Theo Bosanquet

I’ve been working as a theatre journalist, critic and editor for over 15 years.

My articles have appeared in publications including TIME magazine, Huffington Post, the Guardian, Great British Theatre Guide, Time Out, London Theatre and The Stage, among others.

Prior to going freelance in 2016 I was managing editor of the leading UK theatre website WhatsOnStage, where I worked for seven years and interviewed many of theatreland's biggest names, hosted post-show Q&As in the West End, and helped organise the annual WhatsOnStage Awards. Between 2021-25 I was UK editor for Backstage, covering theatre, film and television.

I've also worked with organisations including the Royal Albert Hall (where I’m currently programmes editor), Disney Theatricals, Coventry City of Culture, the BBC, theatre companies Smoking Apples and Original Theatre, PR agencies The Corner Shop and Mobius, and multiarts company Creative Youth. I served as a trustee of east London arts charity Kazzum for four years.

My work encompasses a wide range of projects, from websites and podcasts to magazines and programmes. I’m always open to new ideas. If you’d be interested in working with me, would like to commission an article, or have a general enquiry, please get in touch using the form below.
